Work by a living artist: No export permit neededGhana's antiquities law reaches objects made before 1900. New work by a living artist falls outside it and leaves as ordinary goods. Ask for a dated invoice naming the artist, the year and the medium — US Customs requires the artist's name and whether the work is original.
