Worked metal foil is not obviously a painting, a print or a sculpture — ask the gallery to describe it on the invoice before you assume Chapter 97.
What the gallery's page does not tell you. Leaving Nigeria: fine to export if it is new, dutiable on entry. On arrival in the United States this is not obviously inside Chapter 97 — check the classification before you ship, because craft and decorative objects pay the duty rate of their material, and since 24 July 2026 it would also carry the 12.5% forced-labour duty on Nigeria goods. At 165cm on its longest side this is a freight and crating job, not a suitcase. Price the crate before you price the flight. At $1,300 it sits in the middle of what Lagos galleries publish online.
