What the gallery's page does not tell you. Leaving Nigeria: no export permit needed. On arrival in the United States this is an original work of art under Chapter 97 of the tariff schedule and enters free of duty, and the 12.5% forced-labour duty that has applied to Nigeria since 24 July 2026 does not reach it either, under the informational-materials subheading. At 77cm on its longest side this is checked-baggage size in a hard tube or case if it is unstretched, and a crate if it is not. At $1,114 it sits in the middle of what Lagos galleries publish online.
