What the gallery's page does not tell you. Leaving Brazil: no permit required. On arrival in the United States this is an original work of art under Chapter 97 of the tariff schedule and enters free of duty, and the 12.5% forced-labour duty that has applied to Brazil since 24 July 2026 does not reach it either, under the informational-materials subheading. At 35cm on its longest side this travels flat in a portfolio or a cabin bag, which is the cheapest and safest way to move it. At $447 it sits at the entry end of what Salvador galleries publish online.
